Battle Ground, WA - May 16, 2022 –
Richard (Dick) Rylander announced he has filed to run for election to the Clark County Council District 5 position. Richard was appointed to fill the District 5 vacancy on May 3rd and has hit the ground running representing the people of North Clark County.
In his first two weeks, Rylander has already helped the council resolve differences on the redistricting maps by working extensively with county staff to allow a final map to be approved and move forward. He is currently digging into land use policies and public safety issues surrounding our sheriff’s staff and the county jail.
He’s reached out to the City Council’s in North County and is planning a series of public forums to hear first hand what citizens concerns are. “My objective is to understand the needs and challenges of North County residents and do everything in my power to help them”, said Rylander.
The campaign will focus on: public safety, jobs; transportation; improved land use; housing; freedom and transparency.
Richard and his wife Barbara have lived in Clark County for over 31 years. 3 of their 4 adult children and 7 of their 12 grandchildren live in Clark County. “We are vested in Clark County and doing everything possible to make it a great place to live, work and play,” said Rylander.
